I bought a 2024 Sonata Hybrid SEL the other day, and I noticed my key doesn’t have a remote start button. I double-checked with Hyundai corporate, and they confirmed that my trim should include remote start. I’m currently waiting to hear back from my selling dealer for clarification, but I wanted to ask here in the meantime.
Is there any reason why my key might not have remote start? Could it be a regional thing, a supply issue, or maybe even a mix-up at the dealership? I’ve owned several Hyundais over the years, and all of them came with remote start, so this feels a bit odd.
Would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this or has insights on what might be going on.
Maybe a mistake at the factory when the key was programmed? If the build sheet says it should have remote start then you should be given two keys with remote start.
When I did new inventory check-in for a Chrysler dealership, we had a lot of instances where a mistake was made at the factory so we would fix it and the manufacturer would pay for it. We had a couple of trucks delivered where they should have hitches according to the build sheet but they came without, so they paid for us to put hitches on.
My 2019 Kona doesn’t have it on the remote. I could only do it through Bluelink. That way Hyundai could try and charge me to get the feature after 3 years. Way too expensive for remote start.

You can add remote start yourself using this kit by MyKeyPremium, it uses your original key fob. Just press the lock button twice to remote start. The system is plug and play and easy to install. Saves money by not having to pay for Bluelink’s subscription.
Yeah, all 24 model years get Bluelink+ at no extra charge. 23 and older get 3 years complimentary of regular Bluelink and must pay a subscription afterwards.

It’s also huge! They made it 40% bigger with less functionality! Why!?
I had a 24 Kona SEL which had remote start. I got the same keys on my 24 Elantra N-line that also has a trunk release on the side. These keys are way too fucking big.
