Is $36,495 a good MSRP for a new 2024 Sonata hybrid limited? Out the door price is 40k after tax and fees

For clarification, I already got the car and just found out about their 0% APR for 48 months and their rebate program just announced for November. Posting this OTD price to seek validation that the deal I got is still a good deal lmao.

@Wray
If you’re taking advantage of Low APR, you lose the $1750 rebate, but the math works better in your favor at low APR unless you plan to put that 5000 or more down that was in the picture. Plug it into an amortization calculator and see what fits you best. All around, you’re getting a good deal.

Is this with the Dealer Choice rebate? Last I saw the HMF Dealer Choice rebate is $1,750. If that’s available to you, don’t leave money on the table.

I wasn’t even aware of this at all.

40k OTD for a Sedan is wild. It’s a good deal based off of MSRP alone simply because you’re not paying over, but Jesus this should be a 30k car.

I wish we could all live in 2015.

A top trim midsize sedan hasn’t been $30k for some time now. Especially a hybrid.

@Jai
You need to work for or be a direct family member of HMA/GMA/HMMA to get Circle E Pricing. This is not something you can walk in and negotiate with a dealership on, as this is reimbursed from the factory and not a discount the dealership would offer anything close to. Circle Pricing is great, but this isn’t available to the public and a dealership isn’t making $6k on the car to be able to discount it like this.

The 2025 model is already out, so they’re trying to get rid of the 2024s. There is currently $1750 off the Limited 2024. Regardless, that’s a pretty good deal.

$85 doc fee seems really low; I’d ask for a breakdown of the non-tax fees. There’s definitely more wiggle room there.

I think that’s a pretty typical price. It’s about what I just paid for mine.

I think you can do better on the discounts. The dealer I got my Sonata at has a $4000+ discount. Which means other dealers can swing a similar deal.

40K for a Sonata is absolutely stupid. You’re basically in luxury car territory at this point.

There’s a difference between an MSRP and the market value selling price. Hyundai dealerships ADD in a "market adjustment " fee, which was a big COVID SCHEME, but COVID is no longer an excuse for this price gouge.

Do NOT buy Hyundais or Kias… trust me.

So car payments 600 and up is insane to me.

No. Do your research on different car brands.
