I’ve been in three major accidents with mine and it still starts up perfectly. My 2017 2.4 has been a trooper!

My family owned an 18 Elantra and had no issues! It served us well until it got totaled in January.
I’ve had my 2021 SEL+ with the technology package for exactly a year now. I love the acceleration, all the tech features, the design, and the comfort. There’s enough room for me (I’m 6’6), my wife, our car seat, and our two small puppies. Congrats on your 22! Here’s to many great miles together!
@Fallon
I wanted to get the SEL too, but the wait was over a month. So I ended up with the base model.

How has this car held up for you?

I have that same question!
I owned a 2013 and a 2018, both bought new and carefully maintained. They both started burning oil quickly. My 2018 fell apart around 75,000 miles and stranded me twice because the engine went into limp mode for no reason. I’m now happily done with Hyundai.
@Val
It depends on the car. I had issues with Honda and Chevy too, but that doesn’t mean they’re bad brands. You might want to check out the Ioniq 5 or EV6.
I bought my 2018 Sonata and went on a memorable road trip. I ended up with $11,000 worth of hail damage in Artesia, New Mexico. I faced two tornadoes, snow in the mountains in July, and flooding in Indiana. I even had a steel pipe puncture through a bridge, leading to two blown tires. Given all that, if my Sonata made it through, I believe it’ll be a reliable car for years to come.
@Vic
I had a 2018 Elantra that was also put through tough conditions and it endured with nearly 50,000 miles without issues until it was totaled this January.
@Vic
Make sure to check your oil regularly.
I have a 22 N Line. It’s my first Hyundai, and so far, it’s been incredible.
I still love my 2010 Sonata Limited edition. It runs and looks excellent. I appreciate the look of the 2022 models but really prefer the 2010’s simpler style. I even named her Karen, haha. She’s a nice grey color.
I’m on my third Sonata in about 11 years and have never had any issues. I narrowly avoided trouble with my 2012 when I traded it in—right after, there were recalls for engine fixes due to metal shavings from the piston.
I bought a 2020 SEL Plus 1.6T, my first new car. I’ve only had two major services. One was just two months later when the fuel injector stopped working, putting the car into limp mode. I got it back in about 10 hours. The other was just a safety recall for the trunk latch. I love the car and am looking to upgrade to the Ioniq 6.
@Shan
My brother just got a 22 Sonata as well, but he’s dealing with a fuel injector issue after just 1,200 miles and is waiting for repairs now.

How’s the car holding up now?
@Frankie
They fixed it and he says no issues since.
I just bought another 2021 SEL with the convenience package and I absolutely love it! My first one got totaled.
