My average in my 21 Limited is usually 29/30. I guess I drive like an asshole.

AWD 2.5NA SF 21 here, I get 23 so I don’t think you’re doing too bad.
I just found out though that the AC runs so well, that if I turn it off, I gain 20% in MPGs. So right now I’m getting 26-27.
I think we should make a rule of minimum 500 km drives. I know a road that is downhill for mostly 20 km. Playing with the reset button I can make my dash say 3.4 litres per 100km.
Not a Sonata, but I feel quite proud of reaching 45.1 mpg in my Veloster Turbo. Mostly highway driving going to see my parents.

Damn how fast were you going on average? I can get near that in my Elantra GT N Line but I have to stay below 70.
@Lee
Average speed was around 65-70. Since I was doing mostly 4 lane highway, I’d come across towns that ranged in speed between 45-55 frequently.
Wow that’s amazing.
In my 18 Sonata, I’ve gotten 38.
Have a 21 SEL Plus with the 1.6T and barely get 20 mpg in the city as opposed to the sticker estimate of 27. And I don’t drive aggressively at all.

This may be the issue, seriously. Sometimes those turbos and systems need a good cleaning out by stepping on the gas.
@Sage
I’ll give it a shot lol! I mean the car only has 600 miles on it. I know with these GDI engines they tend to get clogged up, but I’m hoping that’s not what I’m experiencing already. Thanks for the tip though!
52-54 mpg on a trip from Connecticut to Indiana and back. I never use cruise control. I have a 2020 Sonata SEL with 18k miles.
Full synthetic oil changes every 4k miles.

I can hit an average of 50 mpg on a super long interstate drive like that. And I very rarely use cruise control either. I have a 2021 Elantra. Best car I’ve ever owned so far. Got almost 8k miles on it now.
That’s really good MPG considering the advertised MPG is 27/37.
I average about 5.5L/100km without even trying in my 2020 Sonata Hybrid Ultimate. That’s with Continental CrossClimate 2, which are not the most efficient tires and my wife driving, who loves to speed. Also, this is mostly city driving of around 5 km each trip.
