I just got a certified 2022 Sonata Limited with 25k miles for $22,500. The MSRP is $35K. It’s a great car and I’m really glad I got it at that price. Lots of features and I’m still figuring out what some of those buttons do. It’s wild that cars like this go for 22k. Is it that people don’t want to drive sedans anymore? I think sedans are way more fun to drive than SUVs.

It’s actually good for those looking for solid deals on used Hyundai cars. Cars with an engine immobiliser aren’t really affected by Kia Boys.

That’s what I thought too. My Sonata is a push start but I’ve had my window broken twice.
@Sage
If they know what they’re doing, they’ll still break in. There’s a quick method they use that a software update won’t even fix. (I work for a Kia dealer)
Edited to remove any helpful info for thieves.
@Carmine
Are you saying the anti-theft software upgrade from Hyundai doesn’t work?

Doesn’t stop them from smashing windows just to find out it’s on the ‘Only For Professionals and Not Little TikTok Bitches’ list.

The service at Hyundai dealerships really affects their prices. A lot of people would rather pay more to avoid dealing with Hyundai dealers.

Oh man, that’s so true, it’s a terrible experience.
@Vann
Every time I’ve gone to a Hyundai dealer, it was awful, except for the buying part. But that’s how they set it up.

So I’m from Nova Scotia, I bought my 2015 Hyundai used in 2019 from the dealership, I got the extended warranty and I absolutely loved my experience there. Most of my maintenance was routine or covered under warranty. My AC broke, a couple of bearings, and my oxygen sensor were all taken care of under warranty. Had a seized caliper once that was covered, and they replaced the rotors due to the issue. I moved to Alberta last year but seriously considered getting another car from them before leaving! It really depends on the location.
@Blaze
Quick question, how was that caliper covered under warranty? Was it under your extended warranty? Just asking since my 14 has a sticky caliper. I’m glad you had a good experience. Unfortunately, I haven’t since getting my car. When my engine blew, they tried to pin it on me when they knew it was a vehicle issue. Then the radio started drawing power while off, they kept it for a month with no updates, only to blame a sensor that it wasn’t, and then wanted to charge me 1.2k for a new radio. Like, seriously
Poor longevity, they don’t last long. My safety features and engine started failing after 90k miles.

Yep, I got my 18 Sonata Limited with Ultimate Package in '21 for $20,500 with 9500 miles. I’m at 49k now and don’t plan to keep it past 60k.

What year and trim level are you talking about?

Really? My '10 has almost 190k miles on it. I got it in 2013 with about 30k on it. The only engine issue has been the valve cover gasket, which I replaced twice but it still leaks.
I’ve had some suspension issues, but I’m pretty much over it.
I bought a 2019 Sonata last year for the same reason, it was the best deal I found. I think it relates to how sedans aren’t popular anymore. I’m not really into cars, so sedan or whatever doesn’t matter to me, I just want something that gets me from A to B without breaking down. When people say cars are fun to drive, I don’t even know what they mean. I’ve driven luxury SUVs and small cars, and they’ve all felt equally fun to me. I guess maybe a Sonata is great for those who don’t care about cars.
@Kenan
By fun I mean the way they handle corners, changing lanes at higher speeds without worrying. Plus, better acceleration compared to SUVs.

Most drivers don’t care about turning that much though.

Saying it has better acceleration than SUVs is a bit too general.
Which SUVs are you comparing it to?
