When I decelerate the rpms drop to 500 and the vehicle will remain still if I take my foot off the brake. Also it feels like I’m fighting the engine when I accelerate, like the car is slow to accelerate or there’s a drag. Started a couple days ago and is getting worse.
Sounds like your transmission went out.

That’s expensive and sad.
It could be some sensor on the engine or transmission is going.

Know any good mechanic priests?
Maybe either foot brake or electronic brake is engaged, although nothing shows on the dash.
Brake caliper is sticking.
With the car in park or neutral, does the engine rev normally when you give it gas, or does it stumble and hesitate?

Yeah, probably transmission-related, then. Unless it’s something simple like you’re low on trans fluid (check the level!) it’ll likely be more to fix than the car’s worth.
@Ridge
The transmission code I got is P0703.
I tell ya what’s wrong with it! Ain’t got no gas!!!

I doubt they had this feature on a 2005 but is there an auto hold button?
Sounds like a trans problem to me. On the bright side now you can make the I blew a trans joke.
