Started flashing the other day.
Take it to a random Jiffy Lube or whatever and ask them to read the code for free. Make sure it’s free.
Google the code and decide what you want to do. We can’t do anything for you without any information like this.
@Sal
Most auto parts stores will do it too.
Flashing? You’ve probably got a misfire.
It’s time for a tune-up and fuel system cleaning service. Also, don’t cheap out on the air filter either; GDIs can be fragile when not maintained.
A check engine light could mean a hundred different things. I agree with the guy who said to take it to Jiffy Lube to diagnose.
I had a check engine light pop up around 93,500 miles and it was a software issue. Took it to the dealership and they updated the system.
Go to AutoZone and ask them to get your code. They will hook up a device to the car and get a readout of what needs to be fixed.
Def a misfire. Change all spark plugs to start… it’s less than $50. Better off getting yourself a scanner; a cheap one will do and find out for sure. But I’m pretty sure if it is flashing and the car lost power… you got a faulty spark plugs (potential valve cover gasket or spark plug inlet gasket) no more than that for sure!
Take it to the nearest AutoZone, ask the clerk to read a code for you. Once you get the code, ask ChatGPT to give you your model-specific explanation of what that code means. Ask it to utilize owner manual and model-specific information only, and perhaps common issues.
AutoZone, Advance Auto, Napa — I’m sure there are others, but all of these will read your code for free; please don’t pay the steelership. Once you get the code, feel free to reach out directly, post the code or just Google it.
Lol just shows the photo. I suggest a new car; sell it cheap.
