Hey everyone, I’m a car enthusiast. I wanted to share my full review of my new 2024 Sonata N Line. I traded in my 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T with 87,500 miles.
Exterior design: It has a more aggressive look which I appreciate without being over the top. Nothing feels forced on the body, everything looks nice and flows well. Another plus is the absence of fake vents, which is a relief. I picked the ultimate red color since it’s my favorite and I wanted something different from the gray I had on my old Honda. The darker color shows dirt less than the lighter gray did, so that’s a win. I also put three coats of Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Polish on it so I don’t have to worry too much about the paint.
Interior design: My Honda had leatherette seats and soft-touch plastic on the dash and door sills while this one has real leather and microfiber suede, which is a clear upgrade. The sport bucket seats are more supportive. The materials feel much better; I get why people are liking Hyundai’s interiors these days.
Wheels and brakes: My Accord’s brakes felt too small compared to its engine output, which became frustrating over time. The Sonata’s N Line has matte finished wheels that don’t show dirt as quickly compared to my old shiny black wheels. The brakes are bigger and perform much better, which I really like!
Fuel economy: There’s not a big difference. The Sonata’s slightly larger fuel tank means I can get about 388 miles on a full tank, compared to 350 in my Honda. This means I can go longer between fill-ups.
Infotainment and audio: I’m not a huge audio snob, but I like having decent sound. I enjoy heavy metal, and I’ve found the Bose system to be a great upgrade from the factory sound in my Honda. Upgrading from an 8-inch screen to two 12.3-inch screens is fantastic. Plus, I have wireless charging and wireless CarPlay, which is nice, although it took some getting used to.
Comfort: In normal mode, the car is comfortable and easy to drive. I’m currently breaking it in to 1,000 miles and then I’ll start having some fun. I’ve driven about 400 miles so far since I commute a lot for work.
Performance: In my Honda, I always had to put it in sport mode to enjoy driving. The Sonata feels much more responsive even in normal mode, which is nice. The transmission shifts smoothly, and I can’t complain about any of the drivetrain aspects.
Other features: I previously had a normal sunroof and wanted a panoramic sunroof since it brings in a lot more light. I also appreciate the automatic sunshade. It’s unfortunate that the U.S. models miss out on features like the automatic rear sunshade and window visors which other markets get. The parking sensors and the wide screen backup camera are great. My Honda had a backup camera but no parking sensors; it’s nice to have that little extra detail for comfort.
The learning phase: I’ll keep updating everyone on my experience over the next few months. I’m still getting used to the car as I’ve only had it for a week, but I’m loving it!
One thing I noticed about detailing: Hyundai has better attention to detail with rubber seals under the doors that prevent water from getting into the inner door sills, which my old Honda lacked.
I never liked the previous Sonata looks, but the 2024 model is really impressive. I’m considering getting one but have questions about suspension and AC performance. How is the suspension on the N Line? And how does the AC hold up in hot weather?
@Jay
Hey! Yes, the N Line has stiffer suspension since it’s made for performance. It might feel a bit bumpy on uneven roads. The AC is working well for me, even in heat. I’ve had no issues, and it cools down quickly!

Did they give the new Elantra and Sonata N Lines a limited slip differential? The one on my 2021 Elantra N Line feels weak during wet conditions.
No, the N Line doesn’t have a limited slip front differential, but honestly, it hasn’t been a problem for me.
