How can I take care of my AC and heater?

I bought a 2015 Sonata Limited 2.4L from CarMax a year ago. Both the AC and heater work perfectly with no issues. I’m wondering what I can do or have done to keep them running smoothly, especially with 109k miles on the car.

Just maintain my air conditioner in the following ways

  1. Schedule annual AC maintenance in the spring.
  2. Replace the air filter regularly.
  3. Clean the return air ducts.
  4. Inspect the pipe insulation on your unit.
  5. Check the ductwork for any issues.
  6. Inspect the wiring for wear or damage.
  7. Clean the outdoor compressor unit.

Clean or replace your air conditioning system’s filter or filters every month or two during the cooling season. Filters may need more frequent attention if the air conditioner is in constant use, is subjected to dusty conditions, or you have fur-bearing pets in the house.

Just do this;

  • Regularly clean or replace the air filter.
  • Set the thermostat higher when you’re not home.
  • Close curtains and blinds during the day.
  • Ensure all vents are open and unobstructed.
  • Keep windows and doors tightly closed and sealed.
  • Check and maintain your outdoor unit.
