I like how it looks, but it drives like a boat and handles like one too. When a TLX Type S CPO is near the same $ amount as this…or an M340i, or even a 330i idk why you’d take this car.

Where I am you can’t DREAM of getting one of those at this price. Also, you can lease one of these, you get a full long warranty, free maintenance, etc. I effectively got mine for 31 and some change anyway and leased it so I’m plenty happy with this car.
@Jordan
I mean this car brand new is around 37k…a CPO of one of the cars I named is like 41-43k. Much worth the extra 5k.

Please find me an M340i that doesn’t have over 70k miles with no warranty left for 30k buddy.
I’ve seen some new Sonatas with the light bar in front, but only each side of the light bar is lit up not the whole thing, do you know why? I’ve seen it like that on the Kona too.

The DRLs are just the sides of the bar. When it’s nighttime and the full lights kick on it’s the whole light bar and the main lights towards the grill.
@Jordan
That’s sweet, can you make it a full bar during the day or nah? Only full bar when headlights are on?

Only if the headlights are fully on if I’m not mistaken, might be wrong. I usually just do auto.

Yes.
Yay! Great review. Buying mine this week and so excited!
Just so anyone who isn’t in the know, at least with my 24 N-line… there was an out of the factory issue with the front bumper clips on the corner of the headlight where they pop out (to make a long story short). A quick Google search will see the same issue from a number of people on Hyundai forums. This whole ordeal took my dealership 4 visits to their local body shop to get repaired properly. I have a claim in with Hyundai for some type of reimbursement.
Congrats on your car. Does your N line have front and rear parking sensors? I’m getting mixed information on US N line owners. Some say their car notifies them when backing close to an object, others say the opposite.
@Uma
It does not. Different countries have slightly different equipped things. You won’t need them though, front visibility is extremely good due to a slightly higher seating position than you’d expect and the rear camera has multiple different modes including adaptive guidelines and distance markers. It’s impossible to ding this car.
@Jordan
I just wanted to amend this, it has rear cross traffic sensors that beep, but in regular parking it does not have the sensors. Anybody who tells you it does in the US is getting them confused. There are no regular parking sensors in the car.
Just got the 2024 N-Line Sonata trim a few days ago. Definitely like the styling, etc. But here are several initial criticisms: 1. WHY oh WHY did Hyundai flip the buttons on the steering wheel to make the radio and volume on the right and cruise control on the left? Super uncomfortable. It’s always been volume and radio on the left side; why change it? Stupid in my opinion. 2. Why no spare tire? There’s literally an actual empty hole in the trunk for it. I don’t feel safe driving around with that tire inflation kit. 3. No rear air vent on the center console in the N-Line 2024 but apparently will be added on the 2025. Meanwhile, international versions of the 2024 N-Line have this feature included, as well as some other features which I can’t recall at the moment. 4. The drive mode. (There’s only normal, sport, and my drive.) Why is there no eco or smart mode like in all the previous years’ versions of the Sonata? 5. Very odd that you have to move the wiper lever downward for the individual single wipe. In the 20+ years of driving about 10 different cars, this is the first time I’ve encountered that. Why would they change that? It has ALWAYS been to move the lever up for the single wipe. Very weird. I think that’s about it for now. As I keep driving, I’m sure I’ll notice more things.
@Ira
About the spare tire, I just bought the last new 24 Sonata (SEL) on the dealer’s lot and was surprised to see a spare tire. The salesperson just said they don’t sell them without the spare, so maybe it’s a dealership decision whether to add them or not? Like you said, they do leave the space in the trunk for it!
Honestly I would rather have this over a Electra since it’s more practical and has better fuel efficiency.
I just got this vehicle 2 days ago, but I’m just finding out it doesn’t have memory seats My wife will be driving it mostly, but it sucks every time I will use it I have to adjust the seat completely and ruin her setup and vice versa. It’s almost a deal breaker for me but too late now. Other than that I love the car but wow I paid some good money for it and something that my 2013 Pathfinder SL has this doesn’t. SMH.
Good morning. I just bought a new 2024 Hyundai Sonata days ago and there’s a loud ticking noise coming from the engine. Is this normal? Shouldn’t the engine be seamlessly running without any noise? Thanks for any advice on this matter.
