Should I purchase a Hyundai Sonata 2024 Limited Hybrid over Honda/Toyota?

Go for it unless pricing is crazy.

Godspeed, thank you.

The theft issue has been resolved and was really only present for cars without keyless entry.

It’s definitely not 100% resolved for people with a physical ignition. Thieves can work around the fix Hyundai did.

Toyota for sure… Hyundai’s have a horrible history of engine problems.

The Hyundai bros are coming after you! Almost as bad as the climate deniers. When my Hyundai motor blew, the dealership had 30 engines in front of it to replace. The consumer reports customer satisfaction list has Toyota and Honda above Hyundai. I am replacing my Toyota with another Toyota.

@Zara
Just checking the Consumer Reports site, the overall score for Hyundai is 76 and Toyota is 77. The customer satisfaction ranks are the same. Toyota scores one rank higher in reliability, but the road test scores are 83 for Hyundai and 78 for Toyota.

Hyundai service guy here who has also worked for Honda and Toyota. My advice is don’t get a hybrid anything, and for the love of God, not a Hyundai over Honda or Toyota. I know the bang for the buck in the Hyundai is tempting, but it’s an inferior car in terms of reliability and the quality of the things that matter most in any vehicle. Take it for what it’s worth.
