What do you hate/dislike about your 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

Can confirm this on an older iPhone. Not tried on the “newer” one.

I use very sparingly for that reason.

I have the S24 Ultra (newest Samsung flagship). Doesn’t make a difference I guess.

@Dexter
This is one of the few things on new cars that I really like too.

@Dexter
That’s good to know about the wireless charging pad since that’s the only thing I cared about with the convenience package.

Did the blind spot monitors not help with your blind spot? I’ve never had blind spot monitors so I don’t know how useful and trustworthy they actually are.

Biggest regret is having a Hyundai.

Not a 2024 but I have a 2021. I fucking hate the Apple CarPlay. For some reason it’s connected to rough cellular and Bluetooth at the same time I guess and if I lose any kind of service the music and maps will cut out or sometimes the screen just goes entirely black.

@Blaine
'24 has a completely different infotainment system.

Here’s a good video on it. Looks a lot better.

Looks 10x better.

I have the '24 Sonata N-Line. It has maybe randomly disconnected a few times before but always comes back in 10 seconds. I don’t know if it’s Hyundai, Samsung phone, or Android Auto’s fault, though. But not a big issue for me since it’s not common or long enough to be an annoyance.

The YouTube vid didn’t show it, but Android Auto directions also show up on the instrument cluster!

@Haven
THIS!!! Nailed it!!! PS4L!!! Go Steelers!!! It’s Lit!!! :fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire:

Have a '24 Tucson, came from a '22 Sonata. Won’t get a '24 Sonata or '25 Tucson because I hate the stupid shifter.

I have a '22 SEL with technology package.

No major complaints. Minor #1 is lack of blind spot corner mirrors. The blind spot sensors are helpful but don’t replace the need for vision, and the mirror warning icon is right where I’d prefer to put an actual mirror. I put one elsewhere. It seems like a safety oversight for anything but the premium model with the blind spot cameras. I almost wrecked it driving home from the dealer because I was used to having vision there and suddenly didn’t.

Minor #2 is I can’t believe the package I got doesn’t have a heated steering wheel. I’d take heated wheel over heated seats any day and each winter I’ve cursed it a few times.

I also can’t believe built-in dash cams - or at least hookups for them with wiring done - aren’t offered. They’re offered in foreign models. There’s so much stuff like sensors etc. behind the rear view that it’s hard to aesthetically add a dashcam without impeding anything. I dunno if that’s been improved in later models but it should be.

We have a 2009 Sonata that has been fantastic. The 100,000 mile power-train warranty covered the only mechanical issue. The transmission threw a code and the dealer replaced the transmission. Even that was a good experience as the dealer worked with our schedule to do the repair while we were out of town.

After looking at Highlanders and Pilots we just purchased a 2024 Palisade. This was based on our personal experience with the Sonata.

Recently bought a 2024 Hyundai Sonata. It has a wireless charger but I can never use it because the sun perfectly hits where the phone would be sitting and causes it to overheat and turn off.

I also woke up to a dead battery yesterday, but jump-starting it is simply a button press now. Going to get it checked out next week to see if it was a fluke or if my battery is actually a dud. Can’t blame the car for that though, just a dud battery if that’s the case.

Other than that it’s been a wonderful car. Already did a 700-mile road trip and I only had to do 1 refill and I still have 450+ miles in the tank. Cheap refill also.

@Kingsley
Wow thanks for the info! Would the battery replacement be covered under the bumper to bumper warranty?

No idea, I can’t see it not being included.

@Kingsley
You got the hybrid? About to do a short road trip but have driven almost 1000 miles in a month and the wireless charger is a hit or miss depending if you have the sun behind you or not.

Yep I got the hybrid limited!

@Kingsley
Nice, me too. I hope you had a chance to see the YouTube videos on the Hyundai channel. I discovered how to set auto regen brake which is super nice thanks to them lol.
